Visitors

I spent all day with Henry today. We watched the highlights from day 5 and two episodes of a golf documentary which helped pass the time. He's been taken off the continuous morphine and had his catheter removed. He's also started eating and drinking freely, and stood up with assistance. The highlight was having a visit from the rest of the family. It was great to see the other children so genuinely happy to see Henry improving. At one point Henry and I offered Hugh a glass of "apple juice" which was actually urine. Hen had predicted that Hugh would smell a rat and he was right. He rejected it with obvious suspicion but it was still fun (not that I would have let him drink it). We also had a humourous language mix up today. A friendly nurse asked Henry if he'd been sick lately. The confused look on his face was one which said: "Well I've been lying flat on this bed taking morphine since last Friday". It was funny to watch. Luckily I was in the room, and being fluent in both English and Australian, translated her question, and reported back to her that Henry had not been vomiting.
