We have had a lovely day today. The flat was a mess (leftover play mess from Friday and a huge pile of ironing...)and it is so unlike me to leave a mess, but it was sunny and we needed out so after I'd completed day 5 of the 30 day shred (its getting better!) and we were all dressed, I packed a picnic and we headed off to Southwater Country Park. Chris' Uncle stays less than 5 minutes from there so we parked at his house and he joined us on our picnic. Amelie was a little shy of him at first, having not seen him for a while and she had just woken up from a micro nap in the car, but was soon dragging him off to see the ducks (and ducklings!) and swans (and signets!) in the lake. Isaac had a quick feed and then we took a walk around the lake to the adventure playground. It was quite busy but Amelie had a good play and didn't kick up too much fuss when it was time to head on. She didn't kick up too much fuss either when we told her she couldn't have an ice cream as we had no money. Back at Uncle Steve's we took her to the little park right outside his house briefly before heading back home. Once we tucked up our tired girly into bed we settled down to chilli, nachos and The Hobbit on DVD.
