Elter Water

The favourite walk Elterwater Village to Skelwith Bridge.

This Goosander had 6 youngsters with it on Elter Water lake. Very amusing to watch Mum dive under the water and 5 of the six following but the sixth deciding it didn’t like the idea.

Small Skippers (Extra photo) were butterfly in abundance with Meadow Browns and a few other common ones.  

We also saw a juvenile Pied Flycatcher but no photo good enough to post
