Rambling rose

I was pleased to return from holiday in time to see Kiftsgate rose rambling through a birch tree in our garden. I planted the rose quite a few years ago now and this year is the best display yet. It looks as if the birch tree is a flowering birch tree.
After a grey showery start to the day, the weather deteriorated in the afternoon and this evening it feels quite wintry. We were almost tempted to light the wood burning stove but managed to resist.
