"We build too many walls..

...and not enough bridges" So said Isaac Newton, painted here on a wall in probably one of Lincoln's most run-down neighbourhoods. I must admit I thought this was maybe Michael Jackson until Brian put me right! It's by Zazou - a female French artist living in London. She specialises in street art, because it is accessible to everyone.

I was down that end of town due to last night's drama with my Dad. They had sent him home from the hospital a bit earlier than planned and did not put him to bed, as was meant to happen. After eating he needed the toilet, and  - long story short - ended up falling in the bathroom. Unable to get up he shouted and fortunately Estelle heard him calling. They went round and called an ambulance.

No serious harm was done, fortunately but it goes to show that the concerns we shared with the staff about his unsuitability for discharge were not unfounded at all. The ambulance people decreed that he was unsafe to be left at home and found him a respite place in a care home. It will be for a fortnight, to help him regain his confidence in walking, which seems to be the main problem after long periods of inactivity over the past couple of months.

The care home is off Lincoln High Street virtually opposite my old work place. I visited him today and he is still very tired - not surprised really! The room he has is very nice - spacious, comfy and clean. It has a comfortable bed too he says!

When I left I walked down the Sincil Drain to look for a Blip. I was hoping for water birds but did not see any. It didn't matter because I found this instead!
