A Word in Your Ear
She looked lovely in the early sunlight (extra). I went to tell her that when my mother in law’s house is sold she will more than likely be staying in the garden - because she might not survive being moved. She was worried she might not be loved. I reassured her, told her she had a classic beauty and the garden loved her, the gardener loved her. We loved her. But we had to let her go. It was for the best. Her job now was to charm any potential buyers.
‘Make them fall in love with you, so they make a generous offer, ‘I said. ‘We need all the help we can get. ‘
