River of Flowers

Saturday: Garden Produce

Very warm start, 22°C when we got up this morning. There’s a storm brewing - I’ve had the usual “headache” all afternoon but no sign of the storm nor rain …

In spite of (or as a result of) this year’s erratic weather there’s an abundance of fruit in the garden:
Blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, figs, cherries, redcurrants and the honesty seed pods (Moon Pennies) between the blueberries and raspberries are drying nicely in the greenhouse.

Along the bottom the green leaves between the cherries and redcurrants are one of my courgette plants which might have the first baby courgette of the Summer … don’t tell the slugs!

The pink flowers along the centre are Francoa sonchifolia - Bridalwreath plant, which are self seeding everywhere but I’m happy for them to do so, all the insects love them and they are very tough plants for our very dry summers.

MrD had decided to cut back some of the branches of a self sown ash … then the brambles and ivy and assorted growth … I’ve composted some of the leaves and the remaining thin twigs.

Shower of rain around 7pm, we need lots more …

Saturday night … have fun everyone XXXX XXX XX

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
