Anne's Daily Encounters

Sun-day Promenade

Bright Sunny Sunday, but still so cold... 1st time this year I was dressed in a summer's skirt without ties, but that's way too optimistic for today's temp.
Anyway in Den Haag the annual sculption show has started again; this time Russian artists display their works. Two years ago it were the Chinese who had their works here on display and last year South Africans (apparently I'd not posted a blip on that event).
The 'lens' here is part of a piece realised by Nikolai Polissky and his fellow villagers; it's mentionned as a piece realized by social & communal coöperation that got started because of the creative local artist Nikolai Polissky ~ it's evidential that artists in the post-communist era can operate freely and thus they discuss and reflect about their art and use many contemporary images known from Internet & TV etc. And they process their own violent history in their contempory works .
I liked a lot of what's on show and presume I'll add this Summer another blip with works from Russia XXI as they're on show here for some time.
