Back to the ER
My mother had a fall last night, so we had to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. As usual (especially on weekends) the ER was overcrowded and understaffed. So we had to wait about three hours for my poor mother to be examined and X-rayed (“Röntgen” is German for to X-ray).
The result: She has broken both her right humerus and her nose. After discussing her condition and disastrous former hospital stays with the physician, who initially wanted to keep her in hospital overnight for observation, he agreed to let her go home.
So she’s back in K’s care now, but already there are new problems, as she constantly tries to ged rid of the sling for her right arm.
She simply can’t remember why she’s supposed to wear it. Dementia is a cruel disease.
