Fallen petals
Breakfast this morning down at the bottom of the garden. Woke up a few times last night with the torrential rain banging on the roof. By morning it had gone and it was a beautiful sunny warm day.
Graham Morag and my niece Rachel were going up to Mum for lunchtime. I said I would pop in as well for a short time and go back at tea time.
Laura Dave and Ben were there late afternoon and I bumped into Bert mum’s next door neighbour as I was walking upstairs. He asked how mum was and I said she was home from hospital and on antibiotics which she will be glad to finish on Wednesday. He said he was on them a couple of weeks ago for a UTI and he felt awful. I said are you better now and he said not really. I’m done, I’m 92 now and also wobbly. I said don’t you use a Walker? He had one stick and was going downstairs!!! Oh yes I have two of them a three wheeler and a four wheeler but they are a bit bumpy in the pavement out there….. I was a bit gobsmacked as to why he didn’t use it. His family won’t be happy. See, it’s the children now being the adults. Sad really.
Mum was exhausted when I left her in the evening, with instructions of course. I popped to Tesco, home about 8 had my tea, went a walk and watered the garden. Still very warm, 20.5 at 8pm.
I asked her yesterday if there was anything she wished she had did. I always wanted to go to Las Vegas she said. I asked her why she didn’t go and she said that my dad didn’t like to fly after a horrendous flight over to Ireland for a wedding many years ago. Well I don’t think you can go now I said …. Then later morag suggested we take her to the casino in Dundee , even if just for an hour. I hope so, she would love it!! She loves a gamble!!
