My friend’s house in East Cowes

They were built as homes for the estate workers at Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s residence on the Isle of Wight. I think it’s very attractive, especially the brick details.
We left this morning, full of thanks for a lovely holiday. The extra shows our ferry, moored in the place where the vehicles drive on. Beyond it, in the Solent is a gigantic container ship, of which there are many. Dead centre is the Esso petrol refinery at Fawley. And to the left, lots of yachts and boats which seem to predominate in Cowes.  An easy journey by ferry and train for me, my friend A had to drive to north london, not so relaxing
