Under the shaw

I always thought that a shaw of potatoes meant the crop under the ground. However, apparently, a potato shaw is the growth - forest like - above the ground. What grows below is the crop.

In any event some potato plants emerged in the raised beds from some spuds I obviously left behind last year. I did not plant any this year.

I thought it was time to see what was there and discovered this good crop. The first “under the shaw” of the season!
