The reason
Another gorgeous day, breakfast in the garden and everything! Went for a mammoth digging and planting session at the allotment. Now have blistered and filthy hands. Also a bruised knuckle from an axe (not as alarming as that sounds). Went up there again this evening to water everything in. The light was beautiful, and as is so often I was soon the last person there. The strawberries are in blossom and just beginning to swell. They are the reason we keep the allotment despite our general idleness about it. Home grown soft fruit beats supermarket offerings into a cocked hat.
In other news.... the Trailtrekkers had an another amazing weekend for their charity 'walk' check out this link to see how they did it. Tempted for next year? register your interest here.
And well done to the final person across the finish line - Roya Helm who finished in 35 hours 6 mins. That's one hella of a long time to be on your feet. Bet you sleep well tonight.
