Colourful & Noisy

Jackie had left Richard explicit instructions on what was to happen following her ‘Crossing The Bar’ and yesterday evening was the culmination of them all.
No funeral service, instead family and friends were to gather together in a Colourful & Noisy Send Off and we certainly did. Two BBQ’s going, two hot plates cooking the extras, multiple TV screens showing photos of Jackie on a continuous loop, bright decorations, live music intermixed with a disco and a lot of colourful clothing. People mingled and talked of Jackie, most comments were about her easy smile, wicked sense of humour and ‘saucy’ laugh. The only solemn part came with Richards short but heartfelt speech which preceded the toast, with a tot of rum, to Jackie.
At 10:00pm the three minute firework display brought the main part of the evening to a close as those with families left but some diehards remained until gone midnight.

A great send off and one that showed just what Jackie meant to people.
