A girl and her violin

Essy made a last minute decision to bring her violin along for the trip. Last night she was keen to play, but I wasn’t sure how appropriate it would be given that it was getting late in the evening and the guesthouse was full. In the end she took it outside and played for over an hour. As it turned out, most of the house had heard the violin, and at breakfast a short performance was requested in the drawing room before she left. Essy was obliging, and everyone enjoyed the performance.
We left the Lake District this morning and have made it to York. We managed a small amount of meandering this afternoon.. first stop at the Viking museum, and then a walk around shambles… an old cobblestone street in York which also has a claim to fame through its feature in some of the Harry Potter movies I believe.
