Before the rain
The first Cosmos flowers are open. We have two pots of them at the front and back of the house. A real sign of summer.
Sunny and bright to start but as we set out to visit a couple of garden centres it came on the rain. It has continued with sunshine and quite heavy showers since then.
We went to New Coley and got some bargain geraniums that were being sold off. The bigger garden centres in and near the village rarely sell anything at reduced prices. The violas in the pots on the wall edging the drive have all died off (a usual occurrence) they will be replaced by the geraniums, in previous years we have used other bedding plants like Bizzie Lizzies.
Interestingly one of the pots has a sunflower growing in it!
We had a coffee at Woodbank where we failed to find a 'weed whacker.' The one we had has given up the ghost.
Finally finished the ironing. Ready to start the next lot of washing as soon as it's dry enough to put it out!
Last holiday Flickr album 'The Noss Boat Seaboird Trip' is here - feel the splash!
