Structural integration
An utterly delightful day with the uni pals. We spent the afternoon on a beach just outside Copenhagen. We remarked saliently on the integration within Danish society, which no doubt has its problems, but results in groups of youths being happy to lounge around near oldies or singletons, who don’t mind being surrounded by lively families. I just felt that in the UK groups would be more separated and scattered around the extremities of the beach, eyeing each other.
Aside from all of that, what truly binds Danes in happy harmony is their penchant for jumping off large wooden structures into water, both at the beach (see background) and in the waterways around Copenhagen city. You wouldn’t catch me leaping into the Baltic Sea with such gay abandon, but I’m glad hardier types abound here.
