Washed by the waves
The day began with me vomiting, which I am sure was heatstroke, after spending several hours in the sun yesterday. You’d think I didn’t live in one of the hottest cities it’s possible to find. It also may have been withdrawal symptoms from not spending a Monday morning battling endless administrative gymnastics with colleagues.
After that minor setback, we rested for the morning and then walked across a narrow neck of the island to Għajn Tuffieħa. This is a popular string of beaches among barren hills and with some rocky areas for scrambling. At least one of the more secluded beaches is a gay men’s nudist beach.
After our walk we sat on the sand. Chevaughn put some grains in his hand and said, ‘the Earth is nothing but a grain of sand being washed by the waves of the universe’. The powers found this so profound that the clouds unleashed a heavy downpour and we hotfooted it over to the beachside restaurant for some pizza.
