Papa Osprey

Papa Osprey hovers above the nest, then descends and sets down his  catch, quite a chunk of a fish. Mama Osprey cackles and the youngsters scream. Then Mama Osprey takes the lead and grabs the food. For a second the male stops, looks surprised but happy, and then takes off. 

It is a quick visit, but it is amazing how dependable both parents are and have been. The female stays with the children with not even a minute's rest as long as they need her. As soon as they are a little older and can be left to sleep after the meal, she takes a rest flying away for an hour or so, probably within audiblity range. (My assumption.) And the male brings food regularly, and we can see that both youngsters look well fed. : )
