Thursday: Clematis Seedheads

A surprisingly warm and sunny day, it was raining at 8am and I thought it was in for the day … what do I know?

My day for de-frosting the freezer - I’ve put it off long enough! Whilst the freezer was doing its thing, I was popping out and tidying little bits of garden around the blueberries - not weeding, just cutting stems of Aquilegia back to see if they might flower again, all the chopped foliage used as mulch around the blueberries then a good watering with the molten ice from the freezer - nothing wasted :-))

Started cutting back dead plants along the top path too, was very careful to leave the giant scabious which the bees are loving this year -

MrD had gone off to the mountains on his old motorbike but was back at lunchtime saying all his favourite haunts were very busy with … TOURISTS … :-((
