Day out in the City

Originally we were supposed to have visitors today, but due to illness we ended up having the day to ourselves. It was a beautiful day, and Ed was keen to go round the City and get some photos before the end of his contract. The City is about the only part of London that's quiet on a weekend! When we got to the Gherkin, we were all quite surprised to find some dinosaurs, part of the Sculpture in the City exhibition. Orla had great fun playing hide and seek amongst them.

After a stop at Bank so I could feed and change Conor, we headed down to St Paul's. We'd had brunch at the flat so we were having a late lunch. We ended up in the Bread St Kitchen. There was live music playing, the food was fantastic and so was the atmosphere. It was the perfect place to spend Sunday afternoon. Afterwards we sat in the gardens outside St Paul's for ages - another al fresco feed and nappy change for Conor, who had slept right through lunch (thoughtful boy!). Then we headed over Millennium Bridge to Bankside and walked to London Bridge to catch the Jubilee line back to Canary Wharf. A walk home along the Thames Path in the late afternoon sunshine rounded our day off nicely.
