Butterflies Galore
H and I went for a lovely walk this morning on the Lowes, although we ended up spending most of our time (after a cuppa) photographing the dragonflies and numerous butterflies down 'Butterfly Walk' in the Country Park. We were so surprised to see so many as it was blustery and the sun had only just come out. We both got quite engrossed in our photography - I've added a couple of collages in Extras. It started raining as we got back to the car park, but we hardly got any rain and missed the forecast thunderstorms, which, per my app, went slightly West of us. The wind, however, has been extremely strong this afternoon with gusts over 45mph and will remain so per the forecast until late tomorrow. I've never known it this bad during Wimbledon. As I live next to some tall trees, I'm finding it unnerving as they're in full leaf.
Well done to Marketa Vondrousova becoming the first unseeded player to win the ladies singles title, she definitely came through the whole Championship 'under the radar'. And well done to GB's Skupski winning the men's doubles and to GB's Hewitt & Reid winning their fifth men's wheelchair doubles title.
