Happy Birthday Hazel
Woke up this morning with - wait for it - another attack of 'slap face'!!!¥#!* What the... This time, it was just one cheek, but I’ll spare you the photo!
According to Google, 'slap face' is uncommon in adults, and if you get it, you won't get it again. Well, I had it a few months ago, and now I've got it again so that's wrong? This time, with a slight face ache which I became aware of during the night. Weird or what! JR reckons it's to do with Covid. Or maybe Brexit...
Anyway, it didn't deter me from helping Hazel to celebrate her birthday. Besides, it had calmed down a bit by lunchtime, and wasn't so noticeable. She came over and we had a special drink before we went off for lunch.
We had booked a new wee place in Tolcross which did platters. When we arrived it was pretty busy, but there was something that made us instantly decide NOT to stay. No, not loud muzak. Worse! In a very small space, there was a table of six screeching, cackling women who'd had a couple of drinks already, with sudden gales of LOUD laughter every few minutes, so were only going to get LOUDER. We left, but promised to come back on a mid-week day.
No worries, we have plenty of choice in Tolcross - and we chose the Harajuku Kitchen - peaceful, and the most delicious Japanese food. Hazel was well versed in what to order, and her choices proved to be excellent. I even managed a bao bun with ice cream for dessert, though I did not need it.
I'd taken Archie out in the morning, and just before we left, and again as soon as we were home, so he was fine left at home for a couple of hours with his chewy toy. JR took him out for a longer walk later too. The weather app warned of showers all day. As we walked out it rained for about 5 minutes. We all had umbrellas. But the rest of the afternoon and evening has been sunny and really warm.
I missed the women's final at Wimbledon, but I wasn't desperate to see it - a two set match isn't the most exciting thing. I know tomorrow's men's singles will be much more closely fought, and is not to be missed!
