A Lesson In God's Sovereignty
At FBC, we are still in the throes of a Central Texas heat wave with no rain in sight and temperatures over 100 degrees in the forecast until next Sunday when the high will be only 99 degrees. but we still believe that God is sovereign, and that He has everything under control. The Choir and orchestra sabbatical continues, so we began our service with the blessing of hearing an upbeat praise song from The Chambers family to prepare our hearts to offer our own worship and praise in congregational song. The Chambers family blessed us with another special song about how much God loves us, then they continued to assist in leading the congregation in a few more songs. after which Pastor Wes took us into chapter 11 of Daniel where an angel gives Daniel over 135 prophecies about future events for his people and his world----every one of which we can see from our vantage point on the timeline of history has been fulfilled. I can't give you all the details here, but Pastor Wes sure can and does on the Live-stream which would be well worth your time to watch. I especially appreciated his illustration of our free will within God's sovereignty. As with last week's collage, I have also included some versatile and dedicated people that I can't usually show you because they are doing their part to support our worship while I am singing in the choir. Oh, and if you were in the sanctuary in person before the service started, you were treated to another spectacular prelude on piano by Deani! Because there were so many scripture references for today's sermon, I have put them in a second collage in the extras......
