Not the Outcome We Hoped For

Roughly 10 days ago, we found 2 dead baby robins near our back porch. We looked up into the tree, but couldn't see any nest. 

Then, 3 days ago, we found the fallen nest in roughly the same place.

So, instead of the chirping of baby birds, we are just faced with questions about what went wrong.

I left it on the ground to see if any bird would pick it up, but it doesn't appear that anybody wants it.
