A Yellow Celebration

So having got wind of my Blipday last week the yellow guys wanted to help mark it in some way. Thirteen years of blips are worthy of acknowledgement and so I thought I could let them pick their thirteen favourites from the 4744 I have taken so far. Their first selection had thirteen shots from my lockdown series, coincidentally featuring one or more of the yellow guys so I asked for a more representative selection, although said they could still have one 'yellow people' picture, and this is what they came up with.
Back row (left to right)
First blip - Life: A User's Manual - Paris in April 2010
Coming To An End - during lockdown in 2020 and noticed by the BlipCommunity journal too
Christmas Dinner - back in 2012 when we still lived in Hampton Place, and Mum was still with us
365 in print - my first blipday made the papers
Middle row (left to right)
A day for portraits - not surprisingly L has featured in many blips over the years - this one was a headshot in front of our living room wall in 2018
Ten Years! - three years ago and I marked the day, and Leeds' promotion to the Premier League, with a self portrait in my replica vintage top. Leeds and my other United, who also got promotion back to their top flight that year, were both relegated last season so the good times didn't last long!
Cup final - the teams come out - a Scottish Cup final for United in 2014 and even although it wasn't Hampden the hoodoo kicked in as they underperformed against St Johnstone.
Sixties Style - too many portraits to choose from over thirteen years - this was a fun afternoon just up the road in 2016 when R dressed up in outfits from different decades
Front row (left to right)
Dunsinane Returns - easily my most popular blip, by an order of magnitude, after it was linked to by a local news site which led to 21K views
Strawberry Moon - perfect timing in 2016
Caught - and again in 2018
Wow - that was difficult - trying to capture fireworks in 2013 (not happening this year after 40 years of tradition)
On the way in - another moment captured, this time from 2020

Not surprisingly with thirteen years of blips there are lots of possible favourites and on another day no doubt a different thirteen would have made the cut.

As for the last year, looking back it seems to have been busy.
Visited friends in Penicuik last July
An afternoon at the allotments

Just before L's birthday
The Big Beach Busk was back
And we had a family gathering in Dundee
Another photo exhibition for the Art Walk

Published again in Nutmeg
Dad's birthday in the Ferry
Returned to The Paris Book
And back to Wigtown in November
Enterprising youngsters in Porty
Colourful visitors to Bath Street

100 years of dancing at the Assembly Rooms
A friend came to visit
We raised money for the Town Hall

And finally caught Covid
Went back to watch football
And saw the Pedal on Parliament
A very Porty day on the water
And a local cyclist set off to ride around Britain
L and G started gigging again
Met an old schoolfriend in June
And the Town Hall re-opened
People danced in the street (and in the rain)
A friend came to visit
I photographed plenty more ultimate action on the beach
Things didn't change at the football
And I captured a gannet.

A flavour of the year just gone.
