Shades

Almost as soon as MrM got back from work we drove in to Huddersfield, so Lucy could catch a train back to Leeds, and MrM  and I could do some shopping and look round the town centre.

Lucy had suggested going to Byram Arcade, so we went there first.  A splendid place over several floors. I took several shots of the colourful display of lamp shades - this one's taken from the 2nd-floor balcony. After that we wandered through several other arcades, and had a quick look around the rest of the town. We didn't manage to find a summer jacket for MrM, but I had no difficulty in buying several packs of unscented soap (having tried and failed to find any in Holmfirth, other than goats' milk soap at almost £12 per bar(!), and a brand that 'melts' away in the soap dish). Lucy had recommended the cafe in Byram Arcade, so we went back there for a bite to eat and it was, indeed, very good.

Called in to a couple of plumbing shops on the way home and bought a new cartridge for the cold tap in the kitchen, and a plug to fit the sink. MrM has since fitted the cartridge and the tap has stopped dripping, thank goodness!
