the real reason for this big loop - to take a goodly portion of T's ashes to this valley Tom climbed, skied and worked in, and where our romance really took off 40 years back.  this is the perfect spot - and (extra) he can "see" the whole valley, including the peak where he left his dad and a baby boy from his first marriage - after that i decided i was done, did not sleep as i swear there are ghosts in the valley for me,  and drove over another pass, stopped briefly in Ketchum to visit a friend and have been driving all day - am in Pendleton in motel now, and think i got in nearly 600 miles today!  which is something i said i could never do!  ha ha.


I am so looking forward to being back in our bubble region in Seattle as it is cool and one of the few places on the planet that is.  The whole heat everywhere is so so disheartening.  I have no desire to go anywhere beyond a bike ride for a very very long time.
