Last Day

On Tuesday.

Our flight isn’t until late evening and we needed to check out by 10 but decided to stay around to pool and had already put in a request for homemade sofrito, a greek beef dish, for our supper.  

Just as we were preparing to go downstairs our host knocked and said we were more than welcome to use the room until 2 as it was so hot and as their next guests were arriving late and, as we were tidy, it wouldn’t take her too long to clean.  She then knocked near 2pm and said stay until 4. Very kind of her.  We ventured down to the pool around 3.30 and stayed there until our supper was ready and very tasty it was too.  They also gave us some ice cream as a freebie.

We got changed in the loos and were collected at 7pm for our hours journey to the airport.  When we arrived last week it was dark so it was interesting to see the journey in daylight and Corfu is quite mountainous.  We had already had an update to say our flight was delayed by half hour, the same as going out although was an hour by the time we left.  As the evening progressed it was showing a further 2 hour delay.

We watched the tracker of our planes journey from the UK. Once it arrived and unloaded we were told the gate had opened so we all queued up ready to board.  Our gate was an enclosed section and I got too hot so I stood outside it and heard a message come over to say there was an operational problem.  Mr C and I decided to go and sit down and wait for further announcements…..
