Thursday

A day in London.  My lovely friend and ex colleague, B, travelled up to London from Salisbury.  I met her at Victoria and we went for a coffee and pastry and then headed to the Kings Gallery, next to Buckingham Palace, to see the exhibition of 100 years of photographs of the royal family.  No photos allowed but it was very good.

We then headed to Covent Garden but stopped at the crypt cafe in St. Martins in the fields for a cold drink first.  We had a rather poor lunch but sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and people watched, including a chap with a rather large cat on his shoulder.  Walking back towards the embankment, B suggested grabbing a tea and we thought we would go up market and enjoy a cuppa at The Savoy.

We walked to my tube station where we said our goodbyes and she headed to Waterloo to catch her train home.  Always lovely to see her.
