A ............

 ............. little soggy, bedraggled and muddy-faced  -  this juvenile green woodpecker was doing his best to find a few ants and the like in the grass - he got a muddy beak for his efforts.   It's rained all day so far.

Muddier ........

This is the second year we've had a woodpecker family visit the garden - in the insert you can see the three of them (along with a dove).   Not the best photo of them as the back door was open and I had to take this through the kitchen window from a bit of a distance rather than scare them away ........... I then ran went upstairs and took the main shot from the bedroom.

So happy to have seen them.
