Butterfly Counting

The weather forecast was dire, but there was an outside chance of sunny spells.

We were lucky, and I was able to count lots of Red Admirals and Commas (plus odd ones of other varieties) in between the showers.

I went back to the Wolseley Centre because there had been some fabulous photos and videos of the baby kingfishers who have now fledged. The Facebook page of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Photography Group is well worth a visit.

No sign of the babies as anticipated, but dad was flying around. He’s in my extra but you have to zoom in to have a chance of spotting him.
