Breda Mural 04 -- 'Een... Aardappelplant'

'Aardappel' = ''earth apple' = 'potato'.  This is a painting of a potato plant.
1) It can be found along the Vincent van Goghstraat, and one of his well-known paintings is 'De Aardappeleters' = 'The Potato Eaters'.
2) The fields nearby were used by a kind of neighbourhood hospital as vegetable gardens, and potatoes were often cultivated in those fields.  Past tense because the fields are no longer there.

Unpredictable weather but quite doable for a spin on the bicycle.  In any case, much cooler and quite a contrast to the 37-degree heat in Malta we experienced three weeks ago.

Today, we noticed at one point that the neighbour's caravan, which had been a growing source of irritation, or should I say a source of growing irritation, was finally gone.  Was it a warning from the municipality?  Did our desperate telephone call do the trick?  We will never know and we will certainly not ask.  We can finally park again on our own driveway without our car having to do the twist.

A lot of genealogy work today, in between supermarket errands with AW and kitchen duties, women's football in the morning and women's cycling in the afternoon.  Thankful for a slightly improved mood, but I am not there yet.
