Inspired by an intrepid explorer.

Sue, our weaving teacher, is skilled in many mediums including machine embroidery. Look what she did during lockdown? She was inspired by Mary Kingsley’s book about her travels alone in Africa. Her adventures included tackling a leopard and hitting a crocodile with an oar from the boat she was paddling! Extracts from her book are machine embroidered in between the illustrations. It’s a wonderful piece of work. I hope Sue is able to display it somewhere where more people can be inspired by it.
