Decisions Decisions
Tom has decided to go ahead with hormone and radiotherapy treatments for his prostate cancer. He’s come to this decision for the following reasons. 1. No referral has appeared from Newcastle despite him ringing them today.
2. If surgery was to go ahead it could take weeks if not months to happen. NHS targets from cancer diagnosis to treatment are 62 days, he is well over that.
3. The consultant he saw at Whitehaven is concerned that the cancer in April was beginning to break through the capsule, as seen on the MRI.
4. He’s worried it may spread if it doesn’t get treated soon.
He phoned his named nurse who has arranged for a prescription of hormone tablets to collect from our local pharmacy tomorrow.
I’m pleased he is moving forward.
