Tenacious at Anchor

Although it's been a dry day, it's been dull and cold, a chilly northerly wind, just what you want when the biggest party of the decade comes along.

Up early, and straight on AIS to see what tall ships were arriving, to snap on my way to work.  Late shift in the airport again, and mostly been working on the check-in desk.  A few delays, and a late night with the last Aberdeen.  Every flight full arriving here.  I missed a big Viking summer Up Helly Aa in Scalloway this evening, sounds like it's been a huge success.  Fire on, feet up for me.

I managed to capture the Roald Amundsen (Germany) arriving this morning, again no sails up though and from a distance.  As I headed up the road on my way home, I came unexpectedly across this beauty, the Tenacious, a British ship.  All ships have to be in Lerwick by 1pm tomorrow, a quiet night's rest before the parties start.  I'd love to see this ship with the sails up, keep my eye on it tomorrow.  The Tenacious at anchor, looking to the Taing of Levenwick, from Cullister, Sandwick.

Extra, Roald Amundsen passing Troswick.
