The Great Map
A day in Greenwich. We (Orla, Conor, Dad, Grandma and Grandad) got the DLR from Crossharbour to Cutty Sark then explored Greenwich a little, walking through the lovely covered market, on the way to the National Maritime Museum. We had lunch in the cafe then explored the museum. The best thing was being able to walk all around the world on the Great Map. We got some sweet street food from the market on the way back to the DLR.
Later, Dad and Grandad went back to Greenwich to visit some of the pubs. The Trafalgar Arms and The Cutty Sark were both great riverside pubs, perfect for a warm summer’s evening. The third pub was The Plume of Feathers, which is featured in a photograph that Dad found on his phone as tagged as being in Greenwich. The sign gave him the idea to try to locate it. Googling “Feathers, Greenwich” turned up The Plume of Feathers pub and Google Maps Street View gave some clues that it was the same place. Upon ordering drinks at the bar, the locals were very interested in the story and all confirmed this was the pub.
