American Coot Chick

I heard that another batch of American Coot chicks had hatched over at the park so went to take a peak. Sure enough, there they were! And, this nest was right close to the edge of the pond. This little guy was happy snuggled under it's parents wing while it's siblings were out and about on the lily pads with the other parent. Boy, they sure aren't the cutest babies ever but they sure are fun to see :)
Remember these coot chicks??? Well, they are now teenagers shown here with a parent and quite a bit prettier than when they were little.

It was a hectic day so the break to go to the park was a relief.
Felt irritable all day
The store was busy, which is good!
And, it was sunny blue skies but WINDY and the wind had a bit of a chill
