Inspired by a tourist attraction.
Built in the 1790’s, Claude viewing station is situated on the west shore of lake Windermere. The national trust have now restored the viewing stations so that we can experience it in the 21st century. It was one of the first purpose built monuments to entice early tourists to enjoy the views across the lake. The tinted glass was designed to recreate the landscape under different seasonal conditions. It seems strange that we can now do something similar to our pictures with the touch of a small screen.
