Church in the Sea

It has been a blue sky day and with very little of those forecast this week we headed off fairly early to make the most of it. We made a return visit to the Church in the Sea, St Cwayfan's, on beyond Aberffraw having been there the first time we came to Anglesey in 2016. It was windy but not cold and the two weddings that were apparently happening today would have a very lovely backdrop.

We headed back with a detour via Rhosneigr which was very busy as is to be expected in a seaside place on a Saturday in the summer holidays so we didn't stop. Lunch at a garden centre closer to our cottage instead and then a stop at the bridge viewpoints with a walk down to the shoreline before a quick and very local supermarket trip for more supplies on the way back. We attempted to find a burial mound that is allegedly within walking distance after tea but had several false paths and, what with that and Bailey not being keen to walk, that plan was aborted and perhaps saved for another evening if the weather allows.
