Light
With heavy rain forecast this afternoon, Dad and I decided to make the most of the best part of the day and try again to find the burial mound. We left Bailey behind with Mum and made use of our phones to keep us a bit more on the right track. Not that we came at it from the right direction when we had to climb over a fence to access it. Bryn Celli Ddu (the mound in the dark grove) is a neolithic tomb ( excavated and the mound reconstructed in 1929) that acts as a solar calendar at the summer solstice and there was some light getting through even though it was quite grey outside. Ancient markings and modern-day offerings inside are in an extra.
We walked back via the road making for a circular route and a good three-ish miles walk. Back to our cottage to make lunch and then watch the weather come in. Bailey was a pain with his breakfast this morning but benefitted from the ham that we had for lunch. He has requested two outings in the rain but we haven't got too wet and have mainly listened to the worst of it. More of the same forecast tomorrow so we'll not be venturing far I don't think.
