DAY ONE: Realism

I've come to Melbourne to learn about how young people here get involved in designing and delivering mental health services. I will be in Australia for a month and will try to post a picture and a thought about the project/trip each day. 

Alongside this, I am working on a rapid realist review on the same subject and slowly learning more about realism (the philosophical position) and how this informs realist evaluation and realist reviews. 

This jumper felt like the perfect welcome after 2 days and 2 nights of hypnotic flights, airports and lost luggage negotiations. 

I am too tired to sincerely reflect on realism, but there is certainly something about sleep deprivation which makes it feel true that there is a real world out there that we understand through our senses and perpectives. And, that whilst we do research trying to be more and more right about this understanding, we also can be wrong.
