Through the window

A frame, by any other name, a chain
around the lilies, vibrant in the rain.

(with thanks to Shakespeare for half of the first line of this couplet)

I spent a couple of hours gardening in very fine, light rain this afternoon. Just as my tub of weeds was filling up, the rain became more persistent and wetter, so it was an easy decision to stop for the day.

Earlier in the day a heavy bird flew into our window. Looked out and saw a sparrow hawk. It flew off with its beak empty. Later, while gardening, I found a dead starling on the lawn nowhere near where hawk was, so don't think there was any connection. It didn't look damaged. Hope it wasn't bird flu.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my yesterblip.
