Red admiral

I took part in the Big Butterfly Count last year and am doing it again this year. The number of butterflies I’ve seen this year in the garden is a lot more than last year - that hot weather must’ve had something to do with it. I mostly get peacocks and red admirals, but I’ve also had a painted lady and a gatekeeper as well as a cabbage white during the two fifteen minute counts I’ve done so far - nothing very exciting.

Adam and Tomoko went out for most of the day, and Paul was at a friend’s wedding, so I had a bit of free time this afternoon. I popped the carpet samples back to the shop and booked for them to come and quote next week, and then did a bit of gardening and some sitting down relaxing!
