a day of two halves
We headed back to the lake with the express intent of getting a snap of the turtles to send to Nanny and Grandad back home. To achieve our goal we decided to invest in 2 hours on the pedalo - in our book, an absolute splurge. Our time on the lake was like a warm hug - the current took us swiftly over to the turtles and various of them headed over to us to say hello (one of them inexpertly pictured). I can’t pretend that working against the current on the way back was quite so much fun - but at least there was no rush.
And then later, the saddest news from home when we heard that Nanny had passed from this life to the next - something we have dreaded so long that we’d almost made ourselves believe it might never happen. Along with many other blippers, our hearts are utterly broken. I thank God for the greatest mother-in-law I could have asked for.
It seems incongruous to add pictures of our time on the lake - but this was the day that was.
