End of Samarathon and Penicillin Gratitude

I got a same day appointment today for my GP. Got a callback at 2pm and phoned the pharmacy to check to see if they were there.

They weren’t so the surgery faxed the prescription for strong antibiotics through and I got them at 5.25pm, just before the pharmacy closed.

The pharmacy team are superb - they have saved me from taking medications not suitable for my health conditions which have been prescribed by lesser GPs.

I have a lot of time for pharmacists. I have found them to often be better than some GPs, both in their knowledge of medications and their compassion. I don’t think they get nearly enough credit considering how pressured it must be.

I went to collect the antibiotics after asking the surgery to fax it through as I feel awful. The endless rain of July has been on and off all day.

I’m absolutely exhausted, it’s a chest and throat infection - very grateful for penicillin yet again!

Fibromyalgia pain and fatigue both awful but pushed through as no other choice. I’m proud of myself for completing the Samarathon challenge - last day today. Please donate if you can, every pound counts (link at the end of Blip post).

I hope I don’t need steroids too but am going to rest as much as possible and hope this infection shifts. Not easy to shift with asthma, fibromyalgia and joint hypermobility syndrome…

Lucozade, inhalers, heat patches, heat pad, antibiotics, more soluble paracetamol, cooling spray and bed rest this evening. If the Samarathon saves one life, it’s been worth it.

Manifesting a dry August for us all, fingers crossed! This is the wettest July I can recall in Dumfries in years. Not fibromyalgia friendly at all.

Thanks for all your kind comments, hearts and stars. I’m way behind with Blip but will catch up from bed tomorrow, I hope :) xx
