Pain Clinic, The Lurgy and Neck Cloud
I woke up feeling awful today - sore throat and fibromyalgia pain and fatigue all day.
I had to postpone an appointment but I was grateful that she was very understanding.
I get sore throats a lot but I spend a lot of time on the phone - with medical appointments and to friends. I have had tonsillitis (both types!), laryngitis and pharyngitis many times since my 20s.
My voice has had a lot of use due to teaching, singing for a hobby and being a bubbly personality - the polite alternative for talkative, quoted from a lifelong friend! :P
Today has been spent in bed resting, soluble paracetamol, music, watching comedy. Eating as well as possible and plenty of honey and fruit teas.
I haven’t lost my voice thankfully and really hoping it’s not a bout of tonsillitis or the start of a chest infection due to my asthma. Any other ailments flare up my fibromyalgia so my joints are on fire.
I had a telephone appointment with the Pain Consultant at the Pain Clinic which was scheduled for 4.30pm. He rang at 3.40pm and I was glad I didn’t miss the call.
He has agreed to write up a request for a referral for chronic pain management in Glasgow so please keep your fingers crossed for me!
I am still under the care of the Pain Clinic in my hometown and awaiting further specialist chronic pain physiotherapy. The Fischer walking sticks that my physiotherapist fitted me for have been a wonderful help for paced walking.
Today’s Blip is of the Neck Cloud which both a friend and Mumof4Wildlings recommended. I have had it for about three months and am planning on using a little more regularly over the weekend for gentle neck exercises.
I didn’t do any paced walking for Samarathon today, rested up. I told the Pain Consultant about it today. I feel it has helped me mentally with the fibromyalgia.
Spoke to the boyfriend on the phone for a wee while, he offered to come see me but I don’t want him to catch my lurgy.
Thanks for all your kind comments, stars and hearts, have a wonderful weekend :) xx
