Brown Hawker Dragonfly

We saw 2 Brown Hawker Dragonflies at Arnfield Reservoir this afternoon and it didn’t rain!

This one stopped for a photo but hid in the undergrowth and took some finding. The second Dragonfly was zooming around on a mission and we saw it capture a large fly in mid air.

It was fairly quiet on the walk, one couple with 2 dogs went on a different path, 1 woman with three dogs let us pass and 1 man with 5 dogs who mentioned “all I need now is a sleigh” did hold them back while we got out of the way.

Swallows Wood is like a jungle now and I took some phone snaps to compare with historic photos I have of the area
