European Meadow Fritillary

Probably. 

I'm over in St Gervais for three days. I'm supposed to be inspecting a new kitchen.... but almost inevitably, and more than a little annoyingly, the builder is running behind (I'm here two weeks after his "worst case" finishing date). 

The day started cloudy but that was OK as I had errands to run. But steadily the sky turned blue and the heat built up. So after lunch I headed up to Plaine Joux hoping the heat would be bearable in and out of the woods.
The views were stupendous, but the flutterby won as this species doesn't occur in the UK.
