The great escape

Knit and natter this morning was interesting. A new attendee is a young lady who has just finished her first year at agricultural college. She is working at Alton Towers during her holiday to make some money for a trip and this was her first Wednesday off, so that she could attend. She crochets and is keen to learn to quilt. She was chatty and was good company.

I have finished my crochet rabbit, so took my William Morris tapestry to work on. I haven’t touched it since before we moved, so it was very satisfying.

I called into a couple of the shops in town. One is an independent local butcher. This piggy was trying to escape. I bought some mince, a Barnsley chop and a couple of Scotch eggs. Lovely quality and very sensibly priced. The Scotch egg was enormous, so we shared one with a salad for lunch. It was delicious. We haven’t had them for years, don’t know why, so it’s thanks to Max for the reminder as he was raving about them when he visited last week.
